LOW LOSS

Unlike traditional wire braid cabling, Flexco's unique helical outer conductor permits the connector to be threaded onto the cable prior to soldering. This process adds strength and longevity to the interconnection system, and is another in Flexco's outstanding low loss performance.

FLEXCO Space and Vacuum Qualifications:

Flexco Microwave has provided high performance coaxial cable assemblies to Level "S" since 1974, including the TIROS, DMSP, and SATCOM programs. Flexco's experienced assembly staff certifies to a MIL-I-45208 quality program and NASA-STD-8739.3 soldering certification .

Flexco's sealed outer conductor is formed with a continuous copper strip and a completely soldered seam. the conductor does not rely on surface contact area for its operation and is not affected by oxidation. Field tests of the effects of an orbital environment from Long Duration Effects Facility (LDEF) show that, Flexco cable assemblies are not electrically affected by surface oxidation over time as well as exterior braiding and or jacketing eliminates oxidation and provides added protection against handling, meteoroids, and debris.
